We are digital except for our day to day traveling needs which we have a paper back up.
For example all trip planning done on computer and then manually transferred to a TOM TOM. but it is also written down and we have paper maps as back up. We have a log book where we keep track of expenses and put receipts that we need to keep while on the road. When we arrive at destination we do some house keeping and get rid of unnecessary items.
We boondock sometimes and have no internet service so we try to have everything on paper so we can remember it.
We also have a calendar where we write down future reservations as well as having it on my computer. Again for when we are out of cell phone / internet signal.
Redundancy has always been a byword in the computer age. You should be backing up your computer files so this is a logical extension (to me) of a full back up.
Awesome. Totally agree! Not really sold on the GPS thing. Have my iphone and ipad for maps, and will have RM atlas.
