We have done both paper and electronic together since we started 5 years ago. All banking, bill paying and almost all payments done electronically. We even sent electronic checks from our bank when possible. Outlay is done with a credit card (USAA who tracks our spending and if it sees charges where we are not located, notify us- happened twice). Planning trips is done online and with our iPhones, also have truckers map in the truck for dead spots. We scan all paperwork and save it electronically to save precious space. Then we back it up in two places - a local backup drive and in a cloud. Works for us.
