Electronic Or Paper?

Hi. See edit below please.

This question is for full timers that do more traveling than sitting.

I have an old friend who used to full time and she kept her " bible " with her at all times.
This was before internet days. She had kind of like the page a day journal where she kept all of their cards ( grocery store, koa, CW, and other membership cards ) along with a contact list, finance sheet, campground ( state by state ) list with site #'s, etc, and other miscellaneous info, that she carried with her everywhere.

I am torn as wether to go all digital, all paper, or half and half.... Can you fulltiming travelers that get severe hitch- itch please tell me what works for you.

I plan on having a paper Woodall's and RM road atlas with a red and green marker to keep records of good roads and campgrounds, and bad ones.

Your experience is appreciated.

Thanks so much for your time.

Cheryl
  • I like to get bills in the mail that are not for fixed amounts. If I dont get the paper bill I forget to pay it. If it's a fixed amount every month I put it on automatic bill pay and know it's taken care of.

I like to use the map function on my smart phone or my Garmin GPS. The problem is that you can lose the signal in many areas and have no idea where to go. We bought a couple map books. It can happen in many areas.

I use ATM's all the time and hate having to go inside a bank.

I like to get email alerts

I text ALL the time and seldom make a phone call and hate having to go to phone messages

Many documents and other items can be emailed. Sometimes I take a picture with my phone and text it or email it.
  • All digital for us - there are a few pieces of paper each month that we can't get switched to electronic, and those we scan and store electronically. If we need the paper copies for any reason, we just print them out again.

Only actual paperwork we carry as paper are the vehicle registrations and insurance cards and our passports. And we have paper copies of our wills and advanced directives, just in case.

Hi. So do you keep a log or record of Campgrounds by State, site numbers, etc?
What about travel routes? How about an emergency back up of contacts written down somewhere?

    Thanks!
