This. But I even do this at home. I hate dirty dishes and clean them as I cook, so there really aren't that many at the end of a meal. I have a dishwasher, but the dishes are pretty much clean before I put them in.
As for food storage, I prefer to shop fresh and use immediately. I like the ability to chose what I eat when I am hungry for it, rather than having to eat what I have in the freezer. So I shop often, sometimes three times a week. Shopping this way keeps us from eating out a lot, which saves us a lot of money.
