I'm confused.......
In some of your previous posts you mentioned you like CA, do a lot of camping in CA, are former military, use military cgs etc.
And yet you put yourself in a bad situation due to 'ignorance of the law'?????
I do like CA, do a lot of camping in CA, and I am former military, use military cgs etc. it might also surprise you that I have 2-graduate degrees and was once a college professor, but none of this stops me from making mistakes. I guess I’m just not as smart as you Old Biscuit. If it were not for ignorance we would never need to learn anything. Some people pay for ignorance with their life, my ignorance in this matter only cost me some money. But with the help of many here who have responded to this thread my education on this matter continues without any consequence. I am sure there are many painful things that I could have avoided in this life.:B
Not that I am smarter.
It just struck me very odd that with a military background (Viet Nam Vet) and choosing to own & carry a weapon one would expect that you would also take on the responsibility as a gun owner that carries it around as you travel should have known before hand what one can do and what one should not do with a weapon.
Carrying/owning a weapon
requires responsibility. One that should not be taken lightly
Glad that the consequences were not more drastic and just cost you some cash.
Just for your education..one can transport a handgun in CA provided the firearm is unloaded and stored in a locked container.
The term "locked container" means a secure container which is fully enclosed and locked by a padlock, key lock, combination lock, or similar locking device. This includes the trunk of a motor vehicle,
but does not include the utility or glove compartment.
For more information, refer to California Penal Code sections 16850.
Be safe......
