it is not only the campsite that you should be wary of, it is it's location. for example, a very nice (so I am told) campground is in New Orleans that is nestled between two extremely dangerous neighborhoods. at one time they reportedly had a sign warning visitors to not walk the few blocks to the down town at night and would provide transportation. a good clue as to safety is does it have a cement block wall surrounding it topped with razor wire? Now somebody will come on here saying that they walked down town at night and had no problem. dumb blind luck IMHO,
