Fulltimer Insurance

We are going to close on our house on 15 December, and will be fulltiming for some time. We currently have Progressive and I will be checking with them. I would appreciate any recommendations for reliable insurance companies offering fulltimer coverage. Thanks.
  • Two years ago we priced full timers insurance out with several companies. Many companies will not insure full timers. Progressive was about the best coverage and the cheapest. We started thinking maybe they could do better for us on our vehicles so we had them give us an estimate. They provided better coverage at a lower deductible for about 30% less.

Progressive gets my vote all around.
  • I also use National Interstate, but have only been with them for less then 2 years. Got it through Miller's in Oregon. As someone else stated Miller's is very RV friendly and is an independent agency.

Make sure you tell the insurance company that you are full-timers. It makes a difference. If you don't, you could get quoted the wrong rate and maybe find out you're not covered if you have a claim.
The difference is that your rig is used all the time when full-timing as opposed to maybe just weekends during the summer and fall and the rest of the time, it's in storage. So it's logical the rate will be higher.

But part of the reason for the higher price is the liability coverage that comes with a full timer policy. It is similar to the liability coverage you would have if you had a homeowners policy.
  • Over on the RV Groups on Facebook this week, two people with BlueSky got a $400 increase on the fulltime premiums.

Not sure if it's a trend or if it's just BlueSky.
