I had room under the bed to install mine which made a short 12 volt cable which is good.

I agree. We haven't tried boondocking with our new rig (have had it less than a month) but previous rig we had 2 Golf Cart batteries (deep cycle). We spent 1 week camping without elec. hookup or solar panels out. We could go 2 nights with the batteries and using the CPAP and then had to use the generator. :) We spent the winter in AZ boondocking with solar panels.....had absolutely NO time without batteries being charged. :) :)
