- RVfunx2ExplorerCongrats...have a great time, do what feels right to you. We, too are adjusting to the full time life. Most people on here told us to not be in the vacation mode, it's your way of life now so no need to be in a hurry. Great advice!
- Clay_LExplorerWelcome!! After 12 years we have now settled down in a S&B but we loved the lifestyle.
I notice you said "adjusting to the full time life" It took us and many folks we know some time to make that adjustment. Most of us start out in "Vacation Mode" and need to change our mindset from that to the full time way of life.
We made our first big incremental adjustment when we realized that we could stay with my wifes family for Thanksgiving which was about five weeks away instead of hurrying to our next destination.
The next came about a year later when we realized it was fine to stay a month or more at one location. Much cheaper and no real reason to go until we had spent some time to become acquainted with an area. - FlanzExplorer

Thx's everyone,Missourijan, we too are not SS age yet, we will be looking at workamping too. At present staying at Riverview RV in LakeOzark, MO.
Just out of curiosity, what have you done for your health insurance and domicile? We are less than a year away and are still in the planning phase. We will not be on SS either and will have to fund our fulltime life for a little while.
-paul - sdianel_-acct_cExplorercongrats!! enjoy and remain flexible!!

- Ramblin_RecksExplorerCongrats! We are still repairing/upgrading our S&B so we can get it on the market. We are making progress though.
Enjoy your travels ! - missourijanExplorerCongrats, hope you love it as much as we do. Our freedom day was March 9, 2006. We weren't retirement age so we discovered park hosting, we usually volunteer at state parks for 6 months and travel for 6 months. A great life, wouldn't change a thing. Now don't try and see the whole country the first year. Travel the "red roads", in the Wal Mart atlas the 2 lane highways are marked in red. We love traveling them as much as we can.
- gboppExplorerCongrats. Enjoy your travels.
- Dog_FolksExplorerCongratulations. Welcome to freedom.
- Golden_HVACExplorerHi,
I got to full time for about a year. IT was GREAT! I loved to dry camp, and my 100 gallon fresh water tank allowed me to spend about 2-3 weeks out in the BLM land or a forest service campground without hookups before going into town and fill the tanks, drain and do laundry.
