You'll need more CCC than a skoolie short bus will provide. Extra batteries will add to your weight and reduce the CCC even further. 6V batteries are about 70# each. Water, necessary if living off the grid is 8#/gallon.
Forgive my ignorance, what does CCC mean? I'm familiar with CCs in regards to engine displacement, but not CCCs.

For what you're proposing I don't see the rig you described being able to suit your needs.
You'll need a diesel if you're pulling a 4k + toad..

I'm no expert, but the research I've done makes a skoolie sound PLENTY powerful for my needs. The skoolies I'm looking at are all diesels with an international DT466 engine, which should have more than enough power and carrying capacity. I could be wrong, but most of my research shows that these are rated from 30,000 to 40,000 lbs gvwr, and most skoolies come in around 20k lbs once they're built. I realize batteries and water are heavy, but not 10k-20k lbs heavy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't imagine a skoolie having even a little bit of a problem hauling a 4,000 lb toad.

Very few, if any, 4X4 pickups weigh in at less than 4k. Even a Jeep Wrangler is 4700.
I'm very familiar with vehicle weights. A toyota, suzuki sidekick, a jeep TJ, or even a Jeep ZJ with a V8 will weigh in under 4000lbs. I don't need a 4-door JK with a lift and heavy armor.

Full timing is not simply selling your home, jumping in a motor home and heading out into the country. Some planning is necessary. Since it seems that's what you're doing here, I applaud you for that, but get some basics under your belt....Dennis
We've all got to start somewhere.
