Guilt about family left behind?

Any parent that thinks their children should not live their life is selfish any child that claims the reason they don't live their life and mom or dad are healthy and self sufficient are using that as an excuse to not live their own.
My parents are long gone but DW's mom is 90 and loves hearing our adventures on the road. Besides mom calls, DW sends postcards from all the places we go. We pass through twice and DW flies home before or after the holiday season.
