A couple of items that I don't think have been mentioned. Most travel trailers have a box length of 32' or less, while there are numerous 5th wheels longer than that, some up to 45'. So how much space you want/need will to some extent affect your possible choices. As stated in the previous post, a travel trailer and tow vehicle will be several feet longer than a 5th wheel of the same box size due to the hitch and where the trailer connects to the tow vehicle.
The majority of travel trailers are built for the weekend/vacation users. The price point and the quality of materials and workmanship reflects that. There are a few brands/models of travel trailer that are built for four season and fulltime use, but in my experience there are more choices in 5th wheels.
If you are considering buying new, be aware that some brands/models of either will have a statement that the warranty does not cover fulltime use.
