If you like to have a relaxing towing experience go FW. If you like the white knuckle twisted sphincter experience go TT.
Not a valid statement! I've towed a trailer since 2002 and never had any sway or towing difficulties! And that's true for a lot of other trainer owners. Proper tow vehicle, anti-sway hitch, setup, weight load distribution and trailer design results in a very pleasant and easy towing experience.
Well you are the exception. Most try to tow too much with the TV they have.
I ask why have such a complex towing setup to try to control a TT that in it's nature wants to control the TV.
A 5er is simple and sway is not an issue.
I speak from experience. I rolled over with a "properly setup" TV. Load levelers and sway control did not stop the breast from passing me and cause a roll over. Towed the same rig later with a Dually not problem.
Most do not have enough "dog" for the "tail".
Both of you guys have a valid points. A FW is inherently more stable and easier to set up for towing right out of the box.
There is no need to fear towing a TT. While a TT may require more tinkering to get it dialed in, a TT can tow just as well as a fiver when set up correctly.
Overloaded trucks come in all shapes and sizes. There are just as many overloaded trucks towing 5'ers as there are towing TT's.
A combo that is properly matched will tow better than a combo that is not matched properly this applies to both TT's and 5'ers.
