I know people who FT in motorhomes, TTs, fivers.
Most that choose fivers do it for the space, whether they are choosing a rig bigger than anything they can find, or just wanting more living space for a given length. It does mean you are pulling with a truck, pickup or something bigger.
Those using TTs are usually choosing to live in something smaller, and are sometimes towing with something different, like a van, large SUV, or in the case of those living on the road while working full time, they may be towing with their work truck, which might be anything from one-ton to Class 6 or 7, may be carrying a bed full of work equipment like welders, generators, tanks, sprayers, or might have a box on it, or even be a rolling kitchen. Thus a TT may be a more common choice when the tow vehicle is only secondarily a tow vehicle.
Actually, more often here, I see people full timing here in horse vans with living units up front, or larger horse vans pulled by toter-homes, an option when your job requires you to haul around your horses.
Whatever combination fits your own lifestyle needs, if you can figure out what that is. Not necessarily what most other people are doing.
Size is part of figuring out the needs. I've met some couples, even more singles, that FT in TTs in the 16-18 foot range, usually egg trailers (though Scamp does make an egg fiver). I've met two full timers how have adapted their pop-up trailers to full time living and singles, and one couple in an A-frame with a 12 foot box. But the more space you decide you need, the more stuff you want to carry with you, more likely you will push the size to where a fiver or a large motorcoach are your only choices.
