I took a 17 days vacation and I was very surprise how much I spend for the Diesel.How can a retire can afford that.I spend 950$ for the diesel for that trip.

We spend less on fuel now than we did living stationary. Others already mentioned it but you stay longer in one place and dont drive as far between. It helps to plan ahead and pick a spot central to your main attractions/ activities.
