We took our then 14 year old Cat with us on a trip to Florida. We lost his Litter mate shortly before. While we could have left him with our Kids with no problems we felt he would feel better with us. He had never been on the road before. After searching for ideas on how to travel with a cat here on the forum, and using some of those ideas he did just fine. We did use bottled water for him, and whenever we stopped we stopped long enough for him to drink. I bought Pyrex containers with lids for his water and food. We had him in his crate for a while, but then decided to turn him loose. He loved laying on the dash going down the road. One word of caution.....they do like to explore. He got stuck under the bedroom slide once. After that we stuffed pillows in the slide opening going down the road and carried him when opening the slide. We lost him at the age of 16. Take your Kitties for a short trip, they might surprise you....
Happy Travels to you
