I have been a full-timer since 1997 and I still can't imagine being forced to do anything else.
This was never the plan, as I simply sold my home and moved to FL in 1997. I had an RV and planned to build a new house in FL. Turns out I loved VISITING FL, but HATED living there. Lived in our RV in a resort (yuk!) for 3 years and then hit the road on what was expected to be a 6-12 month vacation. Long story short, we never returned to a fixed location and have put over 200,000 miles under our belts since 2000. We were able to find a way to make a living while traveling and we continue to travel 10-20,000 miles per year with a new location usually 1-3 times per week. My wife and I love the travel, the scenery and the destinations. The only issues we have is waking up at the new location, looking out the window and trying to figure out why things look different. Once we remember that we moved, all is well.
We like to remember our travels based upon our stomachs. There is such a variety of family owned restaurants out there, we feel privileged to find them and partake in their unbelievably good food.
Maybe that's a new topic! Where did you get you last best meal?
