Keeping a Clean Machine!

I'm travling in my 2005 Super Duty and Lance TC and the truck just gets more and more crappy looking with all those bugs and all those miles..
Yesterday I thought well lets try whatever we've got and what I had was Glass Plus window cleaner in a spray bottle.
I slowly worked my way around the snout of my truck with some paper towels and then used a dry towel to shine it up... I worked the paint and then the bumper chrome and when I stepped back to take a look...
Truck looked surprisingly "detailed!" Of course this is just a "band-aid" cleanup but it looks night & day better.. Who wudda' thunk!??
Don't really care at this point about how "proper" this is.. It made me smile and that turned my frown upside down...

    Well, I'm never going to use paper towels on paint, if it's good paint.

    Of course we're in AK for the summer and have not seen "clean" for a while. ;)

    My practice has always been to leave the dirt on until I can wash it off properly. Bugs now, some are corrosive, so I may go out of my way to find a wash when we encounter those. Google for truck wash to find something you can fit into.

    If you see a Blue Beacon truck wash on your travels, just pull in and they will take care of it for your.

    I 'treat' my truck to a detailed professional wash about once every three or four months.

    I get my TT cleaned and waxed twice a year - usually when I'm close to Mexico.

    Of course on the drive back, both get covered with bugs again. (And I won't even attempt to clean the mess from driving thru south Florida to/from Key West.)

    Hire a detailer to come to your campsite and clean up your rig. There was such a guy in San Diego that did a neighbor's huge toy hauler, including the roof and awning for $100. Might be less for a TC. Might be worth it.

    Or, take off the camper (I see lots of folks camping that way) and run the truck through a car wash. I usually run my truck through one of those self-wash places to keep it looking nice.

    Sounds good...I have to have a clean truck and trailer...have to.

    But, if you had a GMC instead of a Ford you would never have to clean it because GMC's always look good.....:)
