If you'll be in the area monthly or season make tons of sense. Especially in areas where demand for lots exceed supply.

If you're traveling or in short stay mode then that is obviously more appropriate.

All in what you are doing at the time there is no hard and fast rule.

Yes.

You know, we don't full time so what I say is just from our long trips. A lot depends on your budget, if you move monthly its a lot cheaper than if you move weekly or even biweekly.
Also any place you land, there are things to see and places to go, depending on your interests. We bird, so often I check out the local birding club and find out places to go, My husband is a history buff so we often check out local museums.

Work with the park you are staying at. We pay monthly and if we are going to take a two week trip somewhere else we tell them up front and they knock two weeks rent for the next month.

Electricity rates vary always depends on where you are and how much you'll spend. 22cents in upper MD to 10cents in many other states.

We always try to find monthly rates. Last year, we left south TX @430+elec for GA @$435+elec. Then on to Charlotte, NC @$400 (1st $100 for electric) for Twin Cities @$500 (elec included). Now we're near StL.

If we paid weekly, @$318 vs $645+elec month, we would spend much more. We happened to hit MO during a heat wave, but am sure we won't spend $627 for elec (total $1272 for 4 wks). A previous summer we did use close to $190 for one month in same location.

Again I say it depends on what you are doing. If there is enough sight seeing, etc. to do for a month then stay the month - you save considerable. Electric on our "hog" of a unit runs less than $100 almost everywhere. That's two 15K AC's, washer and dryer, 2=TV's, 12 gallon water heater. If the monthly saves us more than $150 (and usually does) then we pay that rate. If we can't then we pay weekly rates - but I've only done that once at an "RV Resort". And then we decided after two weeks to go somewhere else as it wasn't such a "resort" after all.

Only if you want to sit for a whole month in one place and thus only move 12 times (or less) a year are monthly rates the only way to go. We sit still for 3 months during the winter, but otherwise we have hitch itch after about 2 weeks. We often pay less than monthly rates because we use membership parks whenever possible. Like $70 next week for a week in Myrtle Beach. Sometimes we pay $0/night when using membership parks. Other great options include Army Corps of Engineers especially if you are over 62. And they have no monthly rates. But that is fine with us - a week or two and we have a good feel for the area and are ready to move 100 miles or so down the road.

Most of the time you can get a better rate if you stay for a month, slow down and enjoy life!

In many private, smaller parks you can stay for a month for close to the same price as two weeks cost.

Electricity at our old home was $300.00 per month. With the camper the highest it ever got was $100.00.

You're going to pay anywhere from .12 to .15 per kwH and, of course, it depends on where you stay as far as how much electric you're going to use via the climate. Still will offset everything vs. moving daily or even weekly. Plan your monthly rate so that its your 'hub' and you can see the area without moving your home.
