Allen, Where did you stay on ST Simons island? I am not aware of any cg's on the island. Want to know if I missed something.
We are currently in the DC area but to get here stayed on St Simons, Savannah, Charleston, Shawboro (for the Outer Banks) and Williamsburg. Prices are generally higher the closer to attractions you stay. Our rig is big, 50a and I prefer pull-thrus since we pull a Toy Hauler as it makes it easier to offload and load our motorcycle and deploy our back porch. If you are willing to drive a little, you may be able to stay a little cheaper in nicer parks. We typically use rvparkreviews.com for recommendations and have not been disappointed with the ratings there, though you may pay a little more.
Yes I would like to know also as I could not find anything on St. Simonds island itself. Now we did stay in the area a couple of weeks ago at Blythe Island Regional park, a nice county park where I would easily stay again, only 15 minutes to St. Simonds - bobcouchExplorer

Skidaway Island State Park
Nice place and camping is $26
STRONGLY suggest Skidaway SP for Savannah area. We are currently there - based on suggestions we got on rv.net. Huge campsite with 50 amp full hookups, and that includes cable TV that is better than most commercial RV parks. We even qualified for a senior discount! - Bird_FreakExplorer II

- fla-gypsyExplorerAll of the state parks in those areas are very reasonable
- bsinmichExplorerWe stayed on Tybee Island. It was a couple years ago, River's End RV Park.
- LadyRVerExplorer IIX2 on the Hardeeville RV park.
- leaddogExplorerNot sure what you consider pricey, but the Hardeville RV park is close by Savannah in South Carolina. It is a Passport America park and we have stayed there before and it met our needs quite well.
