For the most part, I agree with everything said. However, I respectfully have to disagree on one key point.
Per the blog, the owner of the DRV Elite had not put one single towing mile on the unit yet before discovering some pretty major issues, including a jacked up slide, loose cabinet doors and other issues a proper QC would have caught. In a coach approaching diesel pusher money, that is inexcusable. I could fully understand having these issues if, say, the owner travelled full time for years and never did any sort of preventative maintenance with their rig, as these issues would suggest. So far, knock on wood, my $14,000 Salem LE Sport TH has had none of these issues, and it was neglected its first 5 years and 2 owners.
The way DRV seemed to handle the repairs is also lacking; the shop personnel were great, and fixed what they could in a timely manner. However, the way management seemed to handle the issues were, IMO, also inexcusable.
Fully understanding that no RV, regardless of quality, is a machine, designed and built by humans, and will always have issues; how those issues are handled by those who built it is key to earning my cash.
