Seems that our government is doing everything possible to keep people from getting life-saving prescriptions, but you can go to any schoolhouse in any town or city and get all the illegal drugs you want. Maybe is they make all our prescriptions illegal, then we could buy all we need.
More freedoms lost to the drug war. I love it when the DEA is in the medical business, harrassing legitimate consumers of pain medication in the name of controlling uncontrollable substances. And why do they do this? Because it's easy and visible to the general public as "doing good." It's nonsense.
Problems with the drug using culture:: Controlling the legitimate prescriptions has not and never will control the drug user culture. Period. DEA cannot do its job successfully so it puts it on the sick and injured citizens. The illegal drug business just has too much profit involved.
England allows drug addicts to present at a clinic every day, get a clean needle and a drug dose. How does it pay for it? Well, the crime addicts commit for drugs disappears, and the economic engine gains in the long run -- less crime, lower enforcement costs, lower insurance rates (Ideologically, of course). So, when we stop making drugs illegal, then the illegal profits disappear.
AND, the sooner we stop treating drug addicts as criminals, and treat the illness that creates drug addicts in the first place, we'll begin solving this problem.
