- davidafExplorerBoth the wife and I work full time but we both have a bit of flexibility with when we goto the office. Wife never really has to goto the office but does so when we are in town and she feels like it. I can do my job from anywhere if I have a decent internet connection and a phone. I'm usually in the office for two weeks then out of the office working remote for two weeks (or there about). We can travel anywhere we want as long as we can get back within a few weeks.

I think there should be a forum offered for those who live permanently in a TT or MH perhaps because it is less expensive than a home, financial difficulties, etc.
Their questions would be better answered by people in the same situation.
Full Time "RV'ing" is a completely different way of life and is usually planned for years in advance as one's choice of retirement which includes RV'ing in their RV which encompasses traveling across the US, etc. - C-BearsExplorerrockhillmanor, you are absolutely correct. We are in a CG right now that has a mix. We are here and retired full timers that actually travel throughout the year.
To the left of us are a couple that lives in their FW all year, they both work, and they don't even have a HD truck to pull it.
To our right is a retired couple that live in their 2013 FW 10 months, then puts it in storage and drives their car to Florida for 2 months every year. They have never traveled in their FW nor do they intend to.
So actually the whole RV.Net forum would probably be of no interest to either of these couples, let alone this section.
Are these other two couples actually full time RVers. Not really. A forum, or section dedicated to "using an RV as a permanent residence" could be of interest to them. - jrnymn7ExplorerI boondock throughout southern Ontario, and work construction full-time (that is when I'm not laid off). And if waking up every morning in my camper, for months on end, isn't "full timing", then I guess I don't know what is.
Full timing, year round, in Ohio, would be tough, just as it is in Ontario. Heating and cooling are some of the biggest hurdles to overcome, but ARE doable, with some planning and creative engineering. I'm currently working out the heating aspect, and preparing for a solar install. Hopefully by next winter, I'll be good to go all year round.
Another big issue is fresh water, and water disposal,(so much is taken for granted when on full hook-ups), but a trip to a CG, once every couple weeks or so, can easily solve those issues. And you can even do your laundry while you're there. In winter you would have to make other arrangements.
As for rv'ing being cheaper... I doubt that is always the case. Parked in a CG, on full hook-ups, can cost more than renting an apartment, in many cases. Now boondocking, that's a different story. But even that can get expensive in the winter, with the added fuel costs, for both heating and generating electricity. But there's definitely no life like it.
I have access to the internet with a Wind Mobile stick, and have a cell phone like everyone else, so staying connected is no biggy. The only problem I encounter on any regular basis is finding parking, but that's only because there is an all-but-total lock down on over night parking in much of southern ontario.
As for defining RV'ing, any rig that can't successfully handle even a couple weeks of boondocking, IS no rv in my book.
Happy Trails. - kakampersExplorer

So where would that leave us?? We planned our full time life for 15 years...not too long after retirement and hitting the road we decided we needed more income...have been working jobs around the country ever since. We sometimes sit in one spot 6-8 months until contract is done then move to the next job. As far as we're concerned living in your RV full time is "full timing" regardless of how often we move it. - DianneOKExplorerEveryone has their own definition of fulltiming. No right, and no wrong way.
I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but there will be no subforums re Fulltiming. Pull the info you want and enjoy :)
