We've never experienced any condescension during our travels. Most view our chosen lifestyle through a combination of awe (how did you ever do it?), envy (wish we could do that) and curiosity (can you tell us how we can do it?).
Many people simply create their own obstacles to their own happiness. Within minutes of hearing our tale, we often receive their rationale of the why and how they cannot join the ranks of full-timers (although they sure seem to want to).
On occasion, our interaction with those we meet provided the inspiration required to 'take the leap' themselves (but this is the most rare of experiences).
In my opinion, the subject matter (deciding to live on the road) has little to do with people's hesitation. Certain individuals simply do not have the ability to "live life deliberately." They have lived life the same way going back generations - and while most seem content, they cannot see the world through a different set of eyes but their own.
many paths to happiness exist in this world. Pick the path you want, and then go out and live it.
