That was exactly my thoughts. Our daughter was getting married in our back yard, and we rented large tents for the reception. In Illinios, you call JULIE (Joint Utility Locating Information for Excavators) to mark all lines. Within two working days of your call to JULIE, a representative from each member utility company will either mark the location of their underground lines with paint and/or flags or contact you to let you know that their lines are not in conflict with the area in which you are planning to dig.
One company didn't come. We called again. They still didn't show. Finally, they came just as the tent company was pulling in and would start driving stakes.
