Questions for Full Timers

Someday in the distant future (15-20 years) the wife and I think we want to go full time in a MH.

We have a few questions for the full times out there.

How often do you travel?

How long do you tend to stay put?

How do you get your mail?

How do you acquire a campsite for months on end?

What does a site cost per month?

What are the things you miss about having a brink and mortar house?

What advice do you have for a person thinking about becoming a full timer?

  • you can't catch a break!! try the Escapees forum or Rv forum.net-
  • My God people I am just talking in general, I am not asking for money. I am simply interested in how things work. That's all. Have you ever been interested in something so you read about it?

I don't need to be told to try it for a weekend or a trip. Ive been doing that for 40 years. I am simply interested in the lifestyle and looking to see how it works.
  • In 15 or 20 years,

Probably won't be mail as we know it, electronic only.

Site cost per month...maybe $4,000 a month for a no frills parking spot with hook ups.

Consumer fraud division might of shut down several RV manufactures.

People won't buy extended warranty's without reading the fine print first.
  • www.rv-dreams.com is a good source for fulltiming information. The site belongs to a then early 40 year old couple that left corporate jobs to RV fulltime. They had never been RVing before. Lots of good info including financial details for every month they have been on the road during the last 10 years.

First thing you need to do is become debt free if you haven't already.

IMO I think that 15 to 20 years out is to far out to really give you any information that would be good.

At that time President Justin Beiber may have all the Forest service campgrounds closed in order to grow more pot for those foreign countries in need. :B

    X2

And honestly IMHO 15 to 20 years from now is a REAL long time to start planning for Full Time RV'ing particulars. Which you will most likely forget by then anyway. :W

Test the waters with simple weekend, vacation, and then on to snowbird RV'ing before you make any rash decisions to just jump into full timing.

EXCEPT for SAVINGS for your retirement, it's never too early to plan for that.
