We chose Texas to act as our 'home base' because we have a mobile RV tech service business as well as being full-time living in our RV. To obtain liscenses for the business you need to be a full-time Texas transplant/resident. The 'winter Texans' are our chosen market. We intend to head north for the hot summer months (June-September).
Coming from Idaho to Texas insurance rates were a bit of a shock, generally double. All things automotive are much higher in Texas such as registration and one-time fees for transfering titles to Texas, etc. No state income tax will be nice but you pay for it elsewhere.
