Francesca said, "I wouldn't trade the time I spent/spend with her- and my other Grandchildren- for any amount of "freedom"!" And I whole heartily agree.
I my opinion there is more "freedom" in being with my grandkids than any other kind of freedom. Albert Einstein often spoke of our freedom to act as children. My favorite saying is, “The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.”
As my grandchildren have grown into teenage years I have stared in wonderment at them as we allow them to explore and investigate worlds beyond that which we had the freedom to explore.
That is my freedom, the freedom of a grandfather to know that they are safer than I thought their parents were when we allowed them to explore and the wisdom to keep them free and safe while they do.
