SD vs TX residency
Both have no state income tax so why is SD more often a choice for residence for full time RVers?

We chose Florida for several reasons, but I did hear some issues with SD if you need to get Obamacare. It seems there are only a few choices at the SD exchange, and one of which wants 6-9 months of utility receipts to prove you are a real SD resident. Not too easy to do if you are fulltimer. One company offers health insurance for the state only. Also not too good if you want to leave the state.
A few years ago when we went full time, we took SD off the table right away because we didn't want to have to go back there every year or so to register the RV or get new drivers licenses, or jury duty. It can be a problem in the winter due to the weather.
Howard of the RV-Dreams blog did a good post about SD and the Obamacare issues. If you don't need it, you would be okay. He also has some good information about choosing your state of residence.
