We use the Garmin In-Reach, a satellite based communications device that allows users to notify others of your location via text, email, or a website. All of your "location pings" are plotted on a map. Also useful for emergency communications (SMS text only) when in areas not covered by terrestrial based cell service (which is frequent for us). While it is marketed more for backcountry users (which we are), we also find it helpful when just traveling with the RV.
