Although a lot of bad luck you were lucky to be near repair location and relatives. A good story of what can happen and why it is almost impossible to prepare... although this reinforces my thoughts on yearly repacking wheel bearings. You seem to be taking everything in stride but trust me your daughter is probably just as anxious to see your tail lights heading down the road. Hope you do have a peaceful remainder of the summer without any catastrophe's.
