I am not a full timer RV'er but in reading up on how to do it is interesting and all sounds quasi-illegal to me... especially if you do not plan on purchasing property in that state. You read about residency fraud coming from States like Texas and South Dakota... Using the street address of a mail forwarding business sure sounds fishy to me...
States will not accept a PO BOX NUMBER for drivers license for example. Getting a legal address to use would be my biggest obstacle. Your choices are to use a family or friends address in that state or purchase a piece of land that has a legal address assigned to it... I sort of remember I had to bring along a Electric Bill or water bill along with me to prove I was a resident of the state. Two families using the same street address for income tax purposes sounds like a red flag to me...
Makes one wonder how many street addresses end up being an empty building lot in the middle of a town.
There must be ways to be an legal residence without owning property as this faces many RV'ers that are full timers.
ADDED NOTE: When you read-up on all of this on-line there is alot of articles stating what is required but very little on how to become a legal resident of a particular state.
It would have to fully legal for me to do something like this...
Just saying...
