I swear (besides lack of a state income tax) some full timers think that Texas is the only decent domicile because of the Escapee's mail service.
Also, as you mentioned, county of residence can be critical -- when I was a Wisconsin resident, I lived in Brown County which did not require annual vehicle emission testing. If I had lived in Milwaukee County, I would have to return to WI every year for testing.
