Texas vehicle multi-year registration?

My registration expires in July. The Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice for 2013 contained this sentence:

"You may renew this registration for more than one year online or at your county tax office."

However, when I try to renew online at

https://rts.texasonline.state.tx.us/NASApp/txdotrts/RegistrationRenewalServlet

I don't see any option to select more than one year.

I haven't received my 2014 notice yet. Has anyone received a recent Texas Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice, and if so, does it say anything about renewing for more than one year?

Thanks!
  • This might be a good topic for an online petition? It is free and you don't have to leave the comfort of your RV: http://www.change.org/petition

Does it work? Here is a link to some of the successes:

You may have heard of these headlines:

o Consumer demand prompts Coke, Pepsi to drop ingredient
o LEGO to launch female scientist series
o United Airlines replaces Styrofoam cups on flights
  • We just received ours and I can not find anything on it for multiple years. I don't think Texas is going to miss out on collecting money. Our County isn't available on line, too small.
  • I couldn't find a way to register my MH for more than a year on the website. Sooooooo, I went to their office and registered it for three years.
  • The law, in fact, did pass and it has created a real mess for those who fulltime out of Texas as well as for the trucking industry, military folks, students away at college, etc. The Escapees, along with a lot of other groups, are working to get an exemption for those of us who will not be able to be in the state 90 days before the registration to have the inspection done.

  • There was a mention here recently of a looks-like-it'll pass law that makes Texas a "single sticker" State, meaning that (if passed by the Texas House) vehicle registration and inspection sticker will become one and the same. Under that system, inspections are required YEARLY; and you can't get a reg. renewal sticker without it.

It may be that this will eliminate a previously existing option for multi-year renewals. This might explain the lack of such a choice on the website despite its still appearing on whatever form you got in the mail.
