@HappyKayaker - You already subsidize my lifestyle with your (and my!) tax dollars. Who do you think builds the roads, rest area, public parks, BLM lands, national forest lands, etc? Don't like it? Talk to your local politicians, I am not the person to complain too about it.
@twins89 - If I am out camping in public lands I tend to just hand wash with warm water and a rag. Otherwise, I have two gym memberships (Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness) which are both 24/7 gyms with showers. I have used trucks stop showers in the past and do use campground showers when I am at one.
@ jmtandem - A very valid point. I actually do put away a few hundred dollars each month in anticipation of replacing my current van at some point in the future. However, my vehicles do not depreciate anymore as they are already "old and tired". The van I am in now is a 1989 Dodge purchased for $3400 in 2010 (4 years and counting for that price). Parts are extremely cheap an it is easy to fix myself, even on the road. Obviously I do have to tools and the means to do my own repairs, others may not.
When it does have a critical failure, I will pickup another similar van with my saved up cash. I do not use credit or debt to buy anything in my life. Everything is paid for out of my own funds or it is not purchased at all. Simple yet effective.
