To the OP. I'm glad you pay everything by cash, but you should re think credit cards. If used properly they can be an asset. I am one who charges EVERYTHING, but pay it off at the end of the month. I strictly use cards that give miles and that I can convert to cash. You have to pay your bills anyway why not get rewarded for paying "on time". I currently have over $1000 worth of miles/cash. This is how I fund my vacations.
Last year our family of four flew to Jamaica and my out of pocket expense was $400 for the flight. I consider this a great reward for paying my credit card on time. Just some food for thought. Enjoy your travels.
