The other side of full time

I read hear many are to broke to do anything but set under full time. They seam to set in parks months at a time and can't aford the fuel it take to move that much. I'm seeing more of this every year. I'm not saying all do this but many are just setting waiting for the check in the mail each month. I once wanted to full time, but saw that I want to spend time at our main home and cabin to. So I guess we are just part time travelers and never spend more then a week at most in one place.

  • Supercharged,

Why are you so upset by how others live their lives?

  • I have never been interested in full timing but I am not about to stick my nose in their business either. I am sure they are doing what they want to. Even if their not travelling there is certainly advantages to not having a S&B house, property to maintain, large utility expenses etc. It's life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that is our God given unalienable right, nothing more.
  • Everyone chooses their own way to live their lives. Some prefer to travel continuously while others are content to sit for a while. Does it really matter to others what they choose....it shouldn't!

Yes the cost of gas is on the increase, it always will be. If people choose to sit in the same place and enjoy life, great. The fact they do that may not have anything to do with gas prices. Those that travel have included that cost in living expence, just as you would add in the cost of heat in your home budget.

We can't judge anyones choice of lifestyle. It may not have anything to do with the thickness of their wallet. Or at least by the thickness you think it is.

What a near perfect life, not without worries of some kind, but to be able to sit back and enjoy life. Enjoy life as chosen and not think about how others can enjoy theirs.
  • Or are there for months by choice? Hiding from snow? The law? ;-) point is you like where your cabin is...its never moved. So why is it a bad thing that people stay in a place they like for months?
  • Scbwr, we live here on Lake Michigan and love it. If you have any questions about places to go just shoot me a message.
  • I'm not interested in full-timing, but we sold our cottage so that the $$$ we were spending on it could be used for using our travel trailer. It really boils down to that folks have to figure out what is important to them, and how they can manage to do it within their budget. We want to travel and see new places...so we've bought a smaller, lighter trailer and now we can start doing what we want to do. Next week, we're headed for the west coast of Michigan on Lake Michigan. Then, in October, we'll take another trip out....destination to be determined!
  • You sound a lot like our Gardner. He can't afford all three things either. We keep telling him to get a second job.
