Thanks everyone for the interesting and thought provoking discussion.
For us a class A is a "no go" Neither of us has any interest in living in a motorhome and besides we couldn't afford one unless money fell from the sky. I know it's a bit unconventional, but I like the idea of driving the Mini ahead or behind the truck. I've always loved driving and we have two dogs so we can each have one with us. I don't see it as a big problem and as long as John agrees with me I can't think of a good reason not to.
If and when we don't want to keep a second car I'm sure one of the grandkids would be happy to take it off my hands.
