Travel with guns

I have several and of various types. I can own them legally and don't advertise nor ask any questions. Basically, I really don't care what the state law is as my 2nd amendment is more important as well as my safety.

Great info in this post. I would contact NRA or other gun orgs & get some accurate info on the subject. A lot of responsibility goes with a weapon. Criminal i.e. civil action against you. Taking training classes & knowing the law can't be stressed enough. JMHO as retired LEO.

Better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.At least that is what someone told me once.

Me. I'm in the Don't ask, don't tell, and If ask can they search my vehicles. I say no. For a couple of reasons. One, I can, And two, Even though I have nothing to hide. It's gonna take them too much time to figure that out. I'm gettin on down the road.

Just how many have been asked if they are carrying firearms while in the States.(not crossing boarders)
In 39 years of RV'ing, I have only been asked once while traveling in the STATES if I had a firearm and that was on Sept. 13th, 2001.(after 9-11). We were traveling from the Outer Banks to Myrtle Beach, SC and I decided to take a short cut thru the Camp Lejeune Marine Base. The MP's had a roadblock and was doing searches. I was asked if I had a firearm. I was carrying a 22 cal. target pistol. They wanted to see it. After seeing it they let me pass.

I am not a full timer,,,, and I will never say if I have one on board or not. Like to keep the crowd guessing. Let's just say if you are not welcome,, you might not want to come in as an unauthorized guest...lol.

Carry a short barrel shotgun and you'll be legal anywhere in the US and Canada. Actually Canada allows a shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18".

There are many personal reasons why someone may wish to do so, from lovers of hunting to those who may have had to file a PFA order against someone. Its personal and we should respect everyone's choice and be helpful if we can.

Currently towing across the U.S.A. I have towed through 14 states (4,000 miles) and never had a need for a fire arm. Just F.Y.I.
