Also, the OP mentioned Arizona as a possibility. It's one of the most expensive for registrations, etc.
The popular states for full-timers to domicile is either Texas, South Dakota, Florida.
The Escapees RV Club is geared for full-timers. The headquarters is in Livingston, Texas and among other helpful things, they have a wonderful mail forwarding service. We've used it for 16+ years. They published this very informative document on "How to Become a Texan".
