Warning! Don't buy that house!

After two years of happy full-time living in my Tiger I idly looked at some real estate online here in the Yuma foothills. Before I knew it I was looking at them with a Realtor! :E And--you guessed it--ended up with a house. I regretted the purchase almost immediately, even though my dog is much happier now. Oh, I like the house well enough and have already poured over $10K into fixing it up with more to come. But taxes, utility bills, rural metro (for those not familiar with this area, it's an extortion deal by the ambulance/fire services) and the usual maintenance issues. Why, oh why, did I do it? Life was so uncomplicated. So free! Sure, I can still travel when I want but now I have a house to worry about.

OK. Consider yourself warned. :B

    gee I feel bad for you, I wanna help you fix your problem , I,ll pay $11,000 and you can go back to full timing.p.s. the dog can stay if he wants.

    Yep, life is a compromise. But at least the dog is happy.
    You can always call the realtor who sold it to you. I'm sure he would like the listing. Sell it and get on down the road.

    Congrats on your house and a happy dog

    I spent a day out there driving around (big area) looking for rental lots and there is a lot there for sale.

    May be back in the fall to rent one.

    Yes. There are a LOT of lots for sale. I found that, in general, they were asking more for lots than for houses on lots. They nearly all have full RV hookups.

    I feel bad for him too, but I'd rather take the RV off his hands. :D

    We got off the road to take advantage of Fl's plunging market. 2.5 years later and 3 properties, finishing up fixing this last one up and time to sell and get back into a fiver.

    Hi neighbor,
    Had basically the same experience when we came to Yuma for a trip to Mexico to get some dental work done. Ended up with a lot in the foothills with an RV port plus a park model mobile home. The good part is we have not been back to Las Vegas or Laughlin NV since last spring so at this rate we will save enough to pay for everything fairly fast,

    Somewhere deep down you wanted a place to call "home." Yes, I do understand the concept of how an RV can be a home.

    I think we were the worlds shortest FT'ers. Nine days :E, that's when Mama told me she needed a land base "home."

    Some people love to travel as long as they know they have a home base to return too that will last as long as they are alive. Gives them comfort. Me, I got chores now.
