Washer/dryer

The wife and I are cautiously looking for our full time rig. One option that we keep going back and forth on is the washer and dryer. For those of you that have one; is it worth it? Is it that much more convenient than taking the load to the laundromat? How many issues are there with having one in the rig?
  • I'd like to add a question to the OP's question: Are you all using RV-specific laundry machines or just compact household models?
  • I vote for yes, get a washer/dryer!!!!! Yes, it is worth it!!

Lot of people talk about they would rather stay in their RV over a motel room, but yet would rather have the storage in an RV over a washer/dryer. You really don't know what someone has washed or dried in a laundry mat or RV Park washer/dryer. Kind of like sleeping in a motel bed to me.

Have had ours for almost eleven years. Did have a problem with the washer several years ago and had some parts replaced. Was a pain being without it.
  • We don't full time and it was a non-negotiable item for the wife. I thought it was a waste of money but I now will not be without them. Ours are separate units, Whirlpool.
