We're going to let our youngest daughter have at her with anything she really wants to keep (aged 25 almost), but there's a lot of stuff that doesn't have the same meaning to her as me being that ancestors were alive during hubby's and my earlier years. I'm thinking I'll just have to bite the bullet and tell her maybe when gold goes up (one day hopefully!) to get what she has no interest in all sold off.
Excellent tip on putting property/accounts etc in all names Dutch, that is something we will be doing for sure to enable access and right of survivorship as well as other reasons. Her fiance of 4 years, they get married Jul 2017, has known since they first met that a prenup is a non-negotiable and stems from us and us alone condition, and never personal. We are setting things up to preserve what my parents and we have built and filtrate down to the grandchildren and hopefully onwards, albeit my lawyer tried to explain to me that I can't reach from the grave, but I'll sure try (LOL).
There's no free lunch in our family being all very hard workers, but our children, grandchildren and depending on governmental intervention our great grandchildren should be able to benefit in future years.
