We have part-time full timed for the last 2 years, 107 days last year and 93 the year before. The only thing we have under our new mattress is probably some dust mites!
We purchased a Spa Sensations 8" Gel Memory Foam Mattress from Walmart the day we purchased the 5'er. It was a little over $200, delivered to our address in 3 days. It's still wonderful.
We have never had any issues with humidity and the mattress. Yes, we have lots of humidity in the summer and I sweat a lot, but not the mattress - we run the AC and it dries it out a lot. In the winter, the furnace also will dry it out, but you may have more sweating if you are in a really cold climate.
