I think you'll find that folks full-time in what they can afford. I don't full-time yet, but plan to do so in a couple of years. I had thought that I wanted a small travel trailer so I went to an RV show. I looked at many small trailers, sat in them, walked around in them and think I laid down on the bed in a couple. After the show and looking at the pictures in the brochures and on my cell phone, I realized that, for me, I would want a dedicated bedroom.
While at the show I asked a salesman if this size trailer could be pulled by an SUV. I was advised, "no problem". After a more education I realized that at the very least he was guilty of puffery!
I walked into an older, well-kept motorhome for sale in my town and instantly knew. . . the way you know when you enter a house you are considering buying. It was likely not the best time to buy as I am not yet ready to leave, but I don't regret having a paid for motorhome and money set aside for the repairs that will surely come. It is 26 feet long. LG
