When I began full timing last May...Blue Sky was a recommendation and I was satisfied with the person I spoke with concerning coverage. I can say that Blue Sky has been good, but I haven't had any claims. Now that I have time before renewal, is there a company with better rates and excellent service?

Any of the large named insurance companies will serve you just fine. Every single company, I don't care who it is, has screwed someone or had some kind of horror story. Progressive, Geico, State Farm, All State, Foremost, GMAC etc etc..Call around to the direct writers and check with a local agent or two.

The only way you could find a better rate would be to call other companies with your information. Everyone's insurance will be different depending on your age, state, RV, car, what kind of coverage you want, driving history, etc. It is all individualized.

I have a good agent and Allstate.

Just keep in mind the Blue Sky policies are tailored for full timers. Some other quotes may not include some of the items you really need for full time.

We had insurance coverage thru a broker..Explorer RV.Out insurance was with National Interstate.They specialize in RV coverage........especially ins. for full time RVrs.We had full replacement for 1st 5 yrs. that then went to 'agreed valve' which we set. Liability, medical, travel interrupted coverage (hotel/motel in RV in for repairs), custom equipment, contents plus ins. coverage on truck. (5th wheel/truck combo) towing etc. During 7 yrs. of coverage we had 2 claims.....1 minor and 1 major.Called, started claim, both handled quickly/efficiently/no hassles and premiums did not go up.
