We aren't big on staying one place but it does help with fuel costs. We usually leave west central Illinois and head straight south to the Gulf Coast. Lots of great places, state parks, etc all along the Gulf coasts of Mississippi and east through Alabama and Florida. We start out near Biloxi and camp our way east along the Gulf to such places as Gulf SP and Ft. Pickens(national park campground) near Pensacola then on south to the Fl. western gulf coast. But don't expect it to feel like summer along the coast until well south in Fl. and many of those campgrounds need reserved well in advance.
