Every position is different, but with most positions you are free to come and go. You are "off duty."

Some positions require you stay "on site," certain hours or certain days, but those are in the minority.

The point is make to these things very clear when you accept the position. If it does not outline it in the agreement, ask. Then follow up with a conforming e-mail, so you have it in writing.

Camp hosting ain't rocket science. Depending on the state in which you host it could be cleaning campsites after use, cleaning shower house daily or twice a day, maintenance mowing lawns, repairing broke things, painting,etc. We did a forest service OHV site 16 hrs a week. Our job was to do hourly vehicle counts on Sat & Sunday and pickup litter and clean a pit toilet on Monday morning. We usually did it Sunday evening after the riders left. If we had heavy rains and the trails were muddy we locked the gate if it was Sat & Sunday it still counted as days worked. It did get loud on the weekends.

Absolutly, my background has been check so far back and so many times that everyone knows my bussiness. And for me that is no problem. I just don't want people to think that the Security ministry is some kind of police force. We treat each person, no matter how bad their day is, with respect. Even give them a smile as they call me every name in the book. But we will never allow someone to come in and affect the worship of others. :B

Tell the potential employer about your past jobs and accomplishments.

The employer will then get an idea of your skills, and if you would be a good "fit." Most understand that many workcampers are on their first job.

After a few positions, you will have some references to give.

The ministry is responsible Public safety and church security. Usually has volunteers from retired Police, Sheriff and so on. Nothing heavy, just people that have a love for God and securing His church.

By all means make it clear you are starting out. Thats a plus to many businesses.

So normal home duties ? My wife and I helped 2 churches start. I setup their security ministry also helped with other duties around the church. I guess I could focus on stuff like that. I never thought about it that way.

I am worried about volunteering without some type of pay. Free site would be great.

I have to ask, What is a "security ministry". As for resumes etc. Most places looking for workampers understand the people have come from a different line of work. They are most likely looking for clues as to your ability to adapt to the new work environment and your stability etc. A cover letter with the resume will go a long way to explaining why you are leaving your position as the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and looking to take a position cleaning restrooms.
