Year Around State?

If you were going to quit moving around which state do you think is best for year around living in your RV?Just starting to think about doing that.

  • Tend to agree with NW Florida. And the arm pit as some call it has never seen a Hurricane! We may try south TX this year. Two months of hot, but unless you are North, it is hot everywhere for the July/August months. Was 110 last year in southern MO.
  • California by far for weather, things to do, and varied options. Obviously it is more expensive and crowded.
  • I'd add that we were closer as a family during that time, and though we were pretty much broke and struggled to feed ourselves, we were very happy.
  • I'm pretty partial to Alaska. Helps to have a shop you can put your RV in while you , live in it though. lol.

Seriously, with the right sized hangar/shop....I'd just live in a nice 5er in the shop. We lived in our old '88 cimarron 31' TT for nearly 18 months in my shop in Oregon after the crash of 2008. It was the only way we could afford to keep the businesses open.
  • Far from full-timers, but we live in AZ and camp year-round. Could easily see full-timing here year-round. Lots of options between desert and higher elevations depending on time of year, and some areas in between are a nice mix of more moderate temperatures if wanted to stay put year-round.
  • After 6 years on the road full time, All things considered I found Florida to be that state.

You need to be just a little above mid state and to the west to be able to do the summers. Weathers fine and summers doable here, no skeeters, and the scenery IMHO is way FAR better than in the lower south. For 'me' the perfect year around state. I originally came from Wisconsin.
