6 days to get a tow

Yes 6 days to get a tow. Was on way to penna. 6/7/17 when overheated stopped at Rushville Oh. gas station with cracked heads or blown head gasket this was about 1pm a mechanic was getting gas and came over to help got some water and antifreez in it and it was coming out the exhaust he said cracked head or head gasket. I called a friend at Zanesville and he got a garage that would look at it right away. I called Good Sam Roadside Assistance I talked to some woman she said that that they would get someone there in a few hours they would tex and call me, no call or tex. I called my friend to come get us and take us home. I called from home Thursday they said someone will be there to tow it within a few hours again a no show, called again after waiting for hours for them to show up said same thing again a no show. Friday talked to Machell they sent tex ETA 5:30 no show my friend went to A-1 towing they told him Roadside cancelled the tow what the hel- Saturday talked to Ariva another no show, talked another one again no show, no one open Sunday. Monday talked to Anthoney he said B&H towing out of Zanesville will be there within a hour drove over and waited about 3 hours I called B&H towing co. they told me they don"t tow a diesel I told them it was a GMC 454 gas engine they said no it is a diesel then they told me Anthony from Roadside Assistance told them it was a Diesel and his driver was over and looked at it and he said it is a diesel what is wrong with these people every one I talked to I told them what motor it had in it they all ask me what happened. Called again this time it was Kriss out of Utal she said some one will be there in the morning at about 9am you will get a tex at 8am giving you ETA. 8:30 am I called to make sure that they were going to come, no record on me, told the girl it was 6 days could I talk to a supervisor she said ok put me on hold after about 4-5 minutes on hold they hung up on me. I called again got someone with a brain they had A-1 towing out to me by afternoon this was Tuesday the 13th. 6 days without a tow to the garage that would look at it right away about 20 miles away. I have been a member for 9 years and never used it, my membership is paid up to 07/20/18 I know there can be a mess up once in a while but 2 or 3 times a day for six days is not right.

If I read some of you guys right the best thing to do is cancel your service and use the money to pay your own tow. Why the hell should you pay for service and then call an outside provider like you suggest.

Clearly the service did not honor their part of the deal. So it is the owner's responsibility to get it off the road, to get it fixed, to get it to a point where it is safe.

THEN deal with getting reimbursed by the crappy roadside service company. But first you take care of your property. You really think the roadside service will take care of any damage done to the RV while it was sitting beside the road. In your dreams. And why should they. It was left there unattended.

  • You have got to kidding. You let your MH sit for six days waiting for a "free" tow.

I have had that service for 9 years and I will be damed if I am going to pay out of my pocket for what I have paid over a $1000 dollars for, the responsibility was theirs to get me a tow, you keep right on thinking for yourself and I will do the same.

your time, and your money. but I wouldn't let my RV sit in a gas station, beside the road for a week. I looked, but never saw where you got it home in those 6 days. Actually surprised the gas station let it sit there for a week.

Again, Your money, your RV. And they would not have been responsible for any damage or theft while sitting there.

  • I'm just wondering. After the first time. What was stopping you from googling tow trucks, Calling one of them and having it towed yourself? Cause I'm 100 percent positive that is what I would have done. And trust me. there is a tow service that would gladly take your business. Why screw around for days with a poorly run unreliable service?

I'm thinkin. There are times you have to accept responsibility for your self.
  • On the positive side (not really) you will be offered a $50 gift certificate to try and placate you.
  • I bet you Coach Net wouldn't have treated you that bad.

Same old BS from Good Sam . . . Send us a private message and we'll look into this.
